1 John 4:18

One of the reasons why I have such a hard time letting go of fear is because I feel that the minute I get too comfortable, something bad is going to happen. If I don’t hold on to that little bit of fear, then when the worst happens, I won’t be prepared. In my prayers, I ask God to make sure these “bad things” won’t happen. But today I realized the error in that type of prayer.

Letting go of fear isn’t about no longer being afraid that the worst is going to happen to you. It’s about knowing that when the worst does happen, you won’t be alone.

Sometimes when you let go of things, it’s because something greater takes hold. Today I felt little fear, and instead, lots and lots of love.
